How do I enroll my child at Show Low?

We are thrilled to welcome new members to our community! Please visit our Registration page for the information about enrolling your child at one of our schools. You may also download and print a copy of the registration forms and bring the completed forms, together with the required documentation, to the main office of the school your child will attend.

Does your school offer breakfast and lunch?

We operate an excellent nutrition program at each campus. Our cafeterias serve breakfast and lunch every school day, in addition to free after-school snacks. We participate in the federal free and reduced price lunch program for those who qualify. For more information or to apply for free/reduced meals, please see our district Food Services page.

What if my child requires medication during the school day?

We will administer medication in accordance with state regulations and with physician and parental approval. Please complete our medication authorization form and bring medications in the original, labeled packaging to the front office.

Do you provide transportation services?

We are pleased to provide our students with safe, reliable transportation to and from school each day. We consider bus riding a privilege and expect all students to adhere to the rules for their own safety as well as for the safety of others. What are the school hours?

Breakfast: 7:05 a.m.
Arrival: 7:15–7:45 a.m.
Dismissal: 2:55 p.m.
Early Dismissal (every Friday): 12:55 p.m.

What do I need to do if my child will be absent from school?

If your child must miss school, please call the school office on the day of his/her absence. For information about attendance requirements and what qualifies as an excused absence, please refer to our student handbook. When a parent calls in an absence and it does not follow the categories for an excused absence, it will be considered an unexcused-parent called absence, or "UP."

What if my child needs to leave school early?

A parent or guardian must sign out and pick up students at the front office. To speed this process, please notify our office staff prior to your arrival. It is important to note that only those indicated to be able to pick-up on your contact list in our student information system may sign-out your child.

Do you enforce a dress code at Show Low?

We expect our students to “dress for success”. Student dress may not present a health or a safety hazard, violate municipal, county, or state law, or present a potential disruption of the educational process. Generally, we do not allow:

  • Shorts, skirts, and dresses must be fingertip length. Shorts may be mid-thigh with leggings or opaque tights beneath.
  • Students will not be allowed to sag (allow their pants to be so baggy that they hang or will not stay up on the waist); underwear may not show.
  • Only hemmed shorts and skirts may be worn.
  • Intentionally frayed or holes in pants may not expose skin above fingertip length. Students must wear leggings or tights to conceal skin above the knee. Holes or frays below the knee that expose skin are permissible.
  • Bare midriffs, halter-tops, tank tops, spaghetti straps, Spandex as outerwear, and any see-through clothing are not acceptable. Shirts, tops, sweaters, and blouses must be designed to be modest and non-revealing. The straps on shirt tops must be at least shoulder width, or three fingers' width, and bra straps may not show.
  • Pajamas of any type (tops or bottoms) are not allowed.
  • Leggings/jeggings must be completely opaque (not see-through) and fit student appropriately.
  • Bare feet are never acceptable. In the interest of student safety, you must wear shoes at all times. Closed shoes are required for any type of physical activity.
  • Jewelry shall not be worn if it presents a safety hazard to self and/or others. This includes safety pins, sharp or pointed items, dog collars, etc.
  • Profane or defamatory writing on clothing or jewelry is not acceptable.
  • No bandannas of any color, size, or shape may be carried, worn, or displayed on any school property or at any school activity. This also includes simulations of anything representing "colors." Bandannas are expressly prohibited due to their use as an expression of gang affiliation.
  • Hats are not permitted in the school building or classrooms unless for a sponsored activity. No headwear may be worn in a building except for properly approved occupational safety headgear required for special classes or special activities authorized by the principal.
  • Gang-related personalization is not permitted on hats, on items of clothing, or on one's person. This includes anything worn or carried on campus, including items with price tags attached.
  • Any clothing or the way clothing is worn that is disruptive to educational activities is not acceptable.
  • Obscene language or symbols, or symbols of drugs, tobacco, sex, violence, weapons, satanic symbols, blood, or alcohol on clothing are expressly prohibited.
  • Sunglasses are not permitted to be worn while in buildings.
  • Students may have no more than one facial piercing in the triangle zone of the face.
  • Shirts, coats, and tops of any kind may not be worn in such a manner as to conceal inappropriate clothing or to provide concealment for items not allowed at school (electronic devices, weapons, substances, etc.) No trench coats or similar garments allowed.
  • Any type of chain material that may be used as a weapon is not allowed.

How can I get more involved?

We strongly encourage your involvement. Please take the time to introduce yourself to your child’s teacher and let him or her know that you’re interested in getting involved. We also invite you to join our PTSO and make your voice heard! Parents can also support their child’s education in some basic ways, including:

  • Encouraging your child to get plenty of sleep 
  • Offering a healthy diet, including a good breakfast (or getting your child to school early enough to eat breakfast in our cafeteria)
  • Helping your child get up in plenty of time for school
  • Providing neat, clean, comfortable clothes

How do I donate my tax credit money to the school?

All you need to do is download and print the form located on the Tax Credit page; fill it out, and get it to us. You can make your contribution in person at any of our schools, or you may mail the form to us. We’ll mail you a receipt for tax reporting purposes.
